Om July 22nd, 5 and 2 Ministry had it's first benefit auction. We had so many beautiful items, gift certificates and baked goods donated and our community came out to support us in a BIG way. Thank you to all our supporters as 100% of the profit from this benefit went to 5 and 2. We are already planning to make this an annual event and have tentatively set the date for Fall 2018. March was such an exciting month for 5 and 2 Ministry!!
We are so thankful and blessed. We can't wait to share with you what we have been up to!
The Clymer PTSO had a Movie night on March 10th and a food collection for us. The kids had such a fun night and contributed to a Ministry in their Community. How awesome is that?!! We are still so amazed at how much was collected!! Thank you Clymer PTSO!!
Sarah King at Corry First also held a collection night on March 17th. She organized the entire event and collected over 150 juice boxes from her H2O Friday Night Flood Youth Group! They received a Shamrock Shake from Sarah and her H2O team in exchange for donating. Jen Heiser and her son Tristan were able to attend, thank the youth and pray over the collection of juice boxes. They were so grateful for the experience. Thank you Sarah King and Corry First!!
French Creek General Store volunteered to be a Collection Site and a Donation Bin is now in their store. Thank you French Creek Store!! We look forward to partnering with you!!
Laurie Beckerink presented at Edwards Chapel United Methodist Church on Sunday March 19th. The kind members of this church already had a collection started and took a Love Offering for 5 and 2! How great is that?!! There is now a collection bin in their church and they are a Donation Site. We were greeted with a warm reception and it was so nice to share our story with our friends at Edwards Chapel. Thank you!!!
Also, the Sunday School Class at Clymer United Methodist Church had a Chocolate Sale to benefit 5 and 2 Ministry. This was completely organized by the Adult Sunday School Class and we were absolutely amazed at what they were able to raise for us. Thank you Ladies and Gentelemn!!!
I just want to close by saying that our lives have been so blessed by all that is going on in this Community. We will continue to keep our eyes on Him and to Him be ALL the glory and praise! Thank you!!
This has been an exciting week at 5 and 2 Ministry. We packed and distributed our first week of food to students in Kindergarten and 1st grade. We had minimal issues and overall it was a huge success. We packed almost 3 weeks of food tonight with a total of 16 volunteers and most were school age children which was a very touching experience for these kids who want to make a difference in other children's lives. We prayed over the bags and will be looking for consistent volunteers to pack on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. We distribute a large amount of food each week and continue to accept monetary and food donations. If you would like to volunteer or donate in any way, please visit our website at 5and2ministry.com. Thank you and God Bless-
"For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them." Matthew 18:20
The 2nd board meeting in January was held and we are making lots of progress towards our launch date of March 3rd, The board will be meeting weekly until then so we can finish shelving, inventory, establish par levels and packing strategies. We will be sending the opt-out letters home to all parents of all Kindergarten and 1st grade students in CCS School District before they go home for winter break the last week of February. So excited and thankful for the progress!!
It has been nearly a week since we launched our social media for 5 Loaves & 2 Fish Ministry. What a blessed and thankful week. The beginning of this ministry began when a calling was placed on a group of people’s hearts who identified and wanted to do more for children suffering from childhood hunger. It also began as a labor of love to serve and give back in the communities we live and were raised in. It is our hope that God’s love will be shown through the efforts of this ministry. The story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 from a basket of 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish was our inspiration. Our deep love for children will continue to be the driving force behind our ministry. For Jesus said ““Let the little children come to me, do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.” Matthew 19:14. Please visit us at our website, 5and2ministry.com, or on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and now Tumblr to keep up with the exciting news from this ministry. May God bless you~
